SDG 15 : Life on Land

Catherine Li was born in Mauritius, and after spending over 20 years in Montreal studying design in the fashion industry, returned home to her native island with her family. She rediscovered her love of photography after being continually inspired by the magnificent landscapes that stretched around Catherine in her home country. Her photographs capture the many emotions of the artist in an attempt to retain the soul of the islands in Mauritius which are dear to her. This passion for their beauty has become even more prevalent as she began to fear that they may lose their essence over time. Catherine depicts these islands through her childhood memories and preserving them by capturing the images in their purest form. She also aims to show the trueness of the islands with more abstract superpositions of the images.
