SDG 6 : Clean Water and Sanitation

Alisa Teletović is an expressive figurative and visual artist celebrated for her dynamic energy and evocative paintings. Her work often explores themes of identity and the search for belonging. Teletović, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, was exiled during the 1992-1995 war, first settling in Austria as a refugee and later migrating to Australia. There, she completed a degree in Fine Art and an Advanced Diploma in Electronic Design and Interactive Media at RMIT University in Melbourne. Her art reflects her internal struggle to understand her disrupted childhood and quest for a peaceful home and self-knowledge.

Teletović’s strong empathy for landscapes evolves continually, embedding messages of survival and emotional resilience in her work. She delves into personal narratives, focusing on memory, resilience, and the courage to be unique. A winner of multiple awards and a member of ULUPUBIH, ULUBIH, and HKD NAPREDAK, she works from her studio in Sarajevo. Recently, she has been inspired by nature, especially the rivers Neretva and Bunica, which teach her to let go, hold herself, and listen to their powerful energy
