SDG 2 : Zero Hunger

Lea Jerlagic, born in Sarajevo in 1984, experienced the siege of wartime Sarajevo, profoundly shaping her personality and spiritual pursuits. She began her artistic journey at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. Awarded a Chinese Government scholarship in 2007, Lea spent two transformative years in China mastering Chinese Woodcut under Professor Zhang Xiaofeng. In 2013, she completed her Master’s at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo.

Lea’s art harmoniously blends Eastern philosophy, calligraphy, and various printing techniques. Over the past decade, she has explored sacred erotic art, inspired by tantric and Taoist traditions. Her meticulous research bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary understanding, aiming to illuminate the intricacies of sacred eroticism through her mixed media works. Lea is an Assistant Professor at the University of Sarajevo’s Academy of Fine Arts. As a war survivor, she empathizes deeply with those in need and aligns with the UN’s 17 SDGs. Practicing yoga and meditation, she understands the butterfly effect, believing small changes can impact the world.
